How do I moderate member registration?

By default anyone can freely register to your site. If you want to enable registration moderation, go to your Admin Panel > Settings > Main Settings > Membership & Registration > Member Approval and turn this option on.

When this option is turned on:

1) A member will fill out the membership registration form as usual
2) An email will be sent to the member, asking them to confirm their email address
3) When verified the account status will be set to pending approval and will appear under the registration section in the admin panel
4) An admin can approve or decline this account in the admin panel

When this option is turned off:

1) A member will fill out the membership registration form as usual
2) An email will be sent to the member, asking them to confirm their email address
3) When verified the user will be logged in

If your site is being spammed, you have many unwanted user registrations or wish to keep your community close-knit, moderating all registrations is an important security step you should take.
